24 walkers and Jimmie a Rotary dog will be walking for 6 days based at the St. Lawrence Manor near Ventnor.

As the walkers are funding the transport and accommodation costs themselves all the
money raised will support:
• Rainbows Children’s Hospice, Leicestershire
• Rutland and Derbyshire Air Ambulance
• Other local charities supported by the Rotary Club of Leicester De Montfort
• Rotary’s own charity the Rotary foundation

An example of Rotary Foundation’s work is polio eradication. After 20 years of hard
work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease.
Polio has declined rapidly since 1985, but the fight isn’t over.

While polio is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease, for as little as 40p, a child can be vaccinated for life. If we don’t finish the fight right now, more than 10 million children under the age of five could be paralyzed in the next 40 years. Rotary raises funds to make sure every child reives access to the polio vaccine.
